In 2016, The Center for Open Data Enterprise has released its Transition Report, with recommendations for the next presidential administration’s first steps on open data. In this article GovTech reports that the Transition Report is the first time anyone has managed to capture all of the promise of open data to improve our government and society. Civic Innovation Project Founder & Director, Lourdes German, was pleased to serve as one of the expert contributors to the Transition Report.
On September 30, 2015, The Civic Innovation Project joined over 1,200 civic innovators for the National Code for America Annual Summit in California for a session organized by Microsoft focused on Data Visualization.
The Civic Innovation Project teamed up with the Rappaport Center for Law and Public Policy at Boston College to host “Governing in a Digital Age” - a joint program focused on issues related to innovation in governance around public records and open data.
Producer and host of the television show Innovation Showcase, Jay Sugarman, featured the Civic Innovation Project on the show, which highlights a range of groundbreaking efforts in the innovation eco-system in the fields of business, science, technology, education, and the arts.
Lourdes German, Founder and Director of the Civic Innovation Project, was recognized by as a remarkable individuals leading urban change in the Innovator of the Week Series, produced by Urban Innovation Exchange, in partnership with Meeting of the Minds, The Kresge Foundation and Issue Media Group.
